Certainly, Amazon is taking a small step towards greater ebook versatility. Currently, the company is rolling out a feature allowing you to download DRM-free books in EPUB or PDF format directly from your Kindle library.
Consider that this change doesn’t represent a complete overhaul of Amazon’s DRM policies. Consequently, the vast majority of books in the Kindle Store will still be protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM). Though, this update specifically targets authors who choose to publish their work without DRM.
