Tyler Perry Faces New Sexual Assault Lawsuit, Adding to Growing allegations
A new lawsuit filed Thursday in California alleges filmmaker Tyler Perry engaged in a pattern of sexual misconduct, marking the second such accusation against the influential Hollywood figure in recent months. Mario Rodriguez, the plaintiff, is seeking at least $77 million in damages from Perry and Lionsgate, the studio that distributed Perry’s 2016 film, “Boo! Following his casting, Rodriguez alleges he was invited to Perry’s home. There, Perry allegedly touched him inappropriately while they were watching a movie. The lawsuit further describes alleged incidents in 2016, 2018, and 2019.
Specifically, the complaint details:

Derek Dixon filed a lawsuit in June, alleging Perry groped him while working on perry’s television series, “The Oval” and “Ruthless.” that case has reportedly been moved to federal court in Georgia, where Perry’s studio is located.
Perry’s attorney, Alex Spiro, released a statement friday dismissing the new lawsuit as a “failed money grab.” Spiro characterized the claims as a rehash of previously unsuccessful attempts to solicit funds from Perry. Lionsgate has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
