## MJF Sets Sights on Hollywood: From AEW Star to Acting Mount Rushmore
For the past five years, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, better known as MJF, has captivated audiences as one of All Elite Wrestling’s most dynamic performers. Though, his ambitions extend far beyond the wrestling ring, with a growing focus on a career in acting. You might be surprised to learn just how seriously he’s taking this pursuit.
Friedman has already begun making waves in the film industry, landing roles in several high-profile projects. Initially, he appeared in A24’s “The Iron Claw,” portraying Lance von Erich, though that scene didn’t make the final cut. Shortly after, he secured a role as Gordie in the upcoming “Happy Gilmore 2,” alongside Adam Sandler.
Next year promises even more screen time, as MJF is slated to appear in the action-comedy “Violent Night 2,” starring David Harbour. During a recent conversation, the AEW world Champion shared his long-term goals, revealing a desire to join the ranks of wrestling’s most accomplished acting alumni. He envisions himself as part of an elite group. “I would definitely like to continue on the trajectory of my acting career,” he explained. “So far, I’ve done three movies, all of them big budget, and each one has given me more dialog and screen time.”
His aspiration is clear: to be recognized alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Cena, and Batista as a wrestler who successfully transitioned to a prominent acting career. “I’d like to be a part of that Mount Rushmore of wrestlers turned actors, and I look forward to being next up.”
But his ambitions don’t stop there. MJF expressed a desire to share the screen with his idols. “Those are the guys I looked up to as a kid,” he saeid, referencing Batista, Cena, and The Rock.
However, he also named a contemporary actor he’d be thrilled to collaborate with: Timothée Chalamet. “Outside of that, if I have to name specific actors, I’d say Timothée Chalamet,” he stated. “I love the fact that he respects this industry, and I also think he’s supremely talented.”
It’s clear that MJF isn’t just dipping his toes into the world of acting; he’s diving in headfirst. With a growing resume and a clear vision for his future, he’s positioning himself for a long and successful career both inside and outside the squared circle. Keep an eye on this rising star – you might just see him gracing the silver screen more and more often.
