Russian Diesel Exports Surge 40% in December
Imports Remained Steady at Approximately 1.1 Million Tons
Recent market data and reports from the London Stock Exchange Group indicate a significant 40% increase in Russian diesel and fuel oil exports via sea during December, reaching around 3.41 million tons. This surge, observed compared to the preceding month of November, is attributed to increased fuel production coupled with a seasonal dip in domestic demand.
The Tuapse refinery, operated by Rosneft and a major export hub, resumed processing on November 21st following a two-week halt caused by Ukrainian drone attacks. Consequently, fuel export shipments experienced a notable boost in December.
