French President Emmanuel Macron reportedly believes the scope of the proposed Peace Council extends beyond the Gaza conflict and raises significant concerns regarding adherence to UN principles, which France deems inviolable.
Invitations and Membership
Trump has extended invitations to a diverse range of political figures, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, a move that has garnered significant attention. Other invitees include Argentinian President Javier milei, and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Hungary’s Prime Minister viktor Orbán is also expected to participate, representing European interests. As of january 19, 2026, the Czech Republic has not received an invitation, according to Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka.
