Bemetra Simmons‍ Joins Florida Nonprofit Alliance Board of Directors

The Florida Nonprofit Alliance (FNA) has announced the appointment of bemetra Simmons, current President and CEO of Tampa Bay Partnership, to its Board of Directors. This⁣ addition underscores the FNA’s‍ commitment to strengthening its advocacy, collaboration, and representation‍ for the nonprofit sector across Florida.

Strategic Leadership and ⁤Regional Expertise

Bemetra Simmons brings a wealth of experience in ⁣economic and social advancement ⁤to ⁢the FNA board. As the leader of Tampa Bay ⁣Partnership, she guides ⁤a coalition of regional business leaders dedicated to enhancing the economic⁢ and personal well-being of the Tampa Bay area’s citizens. Prior to this⁢ role, Simmons served as Chief Strategy and Operations Officer at United Way Suncoast, and held leadership positions in the financial sector for over 16 years‍ at Mutual of Omaha ⁤Bank, Wells Fargo, and BB&T.

A Dedicated Community Advocate

Simmons actively contributes to public and institutional life, serving on the boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta (Jacksonville Branch), Visit Tampa⁣ Bay, the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, and St. Leo University. She is a member of Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class XXXVIII and ⁤was a ⁣2023 finalist for the Business Woman of the Year award presented by Tampa ⁣Bay Business and ⁣Wealth Magazine. Moreover, simmons is a co-founder of Corporate Homie, alongside her twin sister Demetra, an initiative focused on‍ supporting professionals in the corporate world.

Simmons holds a⁣ Bachelor of Business Governance from Christian Brothers University and an MBA from Wake Forest University.
