Andhra Pradesh MLA Accused of Sexual Assault and Forced Abortions
Amaravati, India – A government employee has publicly accused Arava Sri Dhr, a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Jana Sena party representing the Railway Koduru constituency in Andhra Pradesh, of a year-long pattern of sexual assault and forcing her to undergo multiple abortions. The allegations, made in a widely circulated video statement, have sparked outrage and prompted a denial from the MLA.
The woman claims the abuse began shortly after Sri Dhr’s election victory in 2024. She alleges she was lured to a secluded location under the guise of a meeting,where she was subjected to sexual assault.According to her statement, Sri Dhr repeatedly assaulted her over the past year, resulting in five forced abortions. She further alleges he subjected her to harassment and intimidation throughout the ordeal.
The complainant also claims the MLA pressured her husband to divorce her, contacting him directly and demanding she be released from the marriage.
in the video, the woman recounts being told by Sri Dhr that undergoing abortions would ensure her safety, the well-being of her family, and the security of her job. “He saeid if you get an abortion, you will be saved, your family will be alright, and your job will be alright; otherwise, you no about me,” she stated, implying threats were made against her and her loved ones.
The allegations are currently under scrutiny, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement. Sri Dhr has vehemently denied the accusations, and the situation is rapidly developing.
