These engagements will support the company’s productions of PACKRAT and PACKRAT: the Quest por la Abundancia, with the first tour of PACKRAT scheduled for Poland in June 2026. About the Productions

The companion piece, PACKRAT: the Quest por la Abundancia, expands on these themes through an intercultural lens. Audition Details
Auditions are scheduled for Saturday, March 28th, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM at ART/NY, Spaces@520, located at 520 8th Avenue, Studio D, Manhattan. Auditions will be scheduled in 10-minute slots. Prospective puppeteers are asked to submit a resume and headshot to be considered for a time slot.
The audition process requires two components. First, candidates should prepare a one-minute memorized piece of published text – a monologue, story, or poem – to be performed without a puppet. This demonstrates vocal delivery and acting ability. Second, applicants must prepare a puppetry/movement sample lasting no more than four minutes. This sample should showcase the ability to bring an inanimate object to life and tell a simple story. The object used is less important than the performer’s skill in imbuing it with character and narrative.
Compensation and Benefits
Successful candidates will receive a stipend payment for each gig, determined by the number of performances. Concrete Temple Theatre will provide housing, transportation, and a per diem for out-of-town dates and performances, ensuring that artists are supported throughout their touring commitments. The salary range for these engagements is between $700.00 and $1,700.00 per gig.
