Two of gaming’s most iconic depictions of hell are colliding in an unexpected crossover. Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Diablo Immortal will team up with DOOM: The Dark Ages for a limited-time event titled “The Slayers’ Reign,” bringing the brutal combat style of the Slayer into the world of Sanctuary.
The Diablo Immortal x DOOM collab is designed to merge the high-fantasy action of Diablo with the aggressive, fast-paced carnage of the DOOM franchise. Players can expect a significant shift in gameplay mechanics, introducing new skills, a specialized legendary gem and a reimagined survival mode that rewards aggressive playstyles.
According to official announcements, the Slayers’ Reign event is scheduled to run from April 16 to May 13, 2026 via Blizzard News. But, some of the action begins slightly earlier, as the event’s centerpiece game mode, Slayer’s Bane, is set to open on April 15 via Dexerto.
Slayer’s Bane: A Reimagining of Survivor’s Bane
The core of this collaboration is “Slayer’s Bane,” a limited-time reimagining of the existing Survivor’s Bane mode. In this version, players will have their standard loadouts replaced with six specific skills drawn directly from the Slayer’s arsenal. These abilities are retuned to fit the combat rhythm of Diablo Immortal even as maintaining the ferocity of DOOM.
The available skill set includes a variety of high-impact attacks such as whirling shields, earth-shattering strikes, and sustained firepower. The design philosophy of these skills focuses on rewarding aggression and momentum. Some abilities are designed to function in synergy, specifically amplifying damage dealt to enemies that are already bleeding, creating a compounding effect of devastation on the battlefield.
The environment of Slayer’s Bane also reflects the crossover, featuring Imps from the DOOM universe stalking the battlefield. The mode culminates in a final confrontation with the Cyberdemon, described as a mutilated authority engineered to stop the Scourge of Hell.
The Crucible: New Legendary Gem Mechanics
Beyond the game mode, the event introduces a significant mechanical addition to the game: The Crucible. What we have is a new 2-Star Legendary Gem that alters how players interact with enemy health and combat buffs.
The Crucible operates on a specific combat loop. When a player deals damage to an enemy that has fallen below a certain health threshold, it triggers an effect called “Slaughter.” This effect deals bonus damage that scales upward as the target’s remaining life drops. If a player manages to slay an enemy shortly after the Slaughter effect is triggered, they gain “Slayer’s Rage.”
Slayer’s Rage is a stacking buff that increases both the player’s damage output and movement speed. For those engaging in PvP, killing another player grants maximum stacks of this buff immediately. To prevent infinite loops on a single target, the Slaughter effect is governed by a per-enemy cooldown.
Cosmetics and Rewards
The Slayers’ Reign event is not only about gameplay changes but also about aesthetic integration. Players will have the opportunity to acquire limited-time cosmetics that reflect the imagery of DOOM: The Dark Ages. These include the “Sentinel Forged Armory” weapon cosmetics and the “Ruthless Hellwalker” items available through the Phantom Market.

the event introduces “Slayers’ Companions” and specific DOOM-themed log-in rewards for participants. Players can utilize iconic weaponry from the DOOM series, such as the Shield Saw, Dreadmace, and the legendary Super Shotgun, to parry and burst through hordes of demons.
