North Jeolla Province’s trade delegation to the United States achieved significant results in April 2026, with participating companies conducting 199 business consultations and securing 24 memoranda of understanding (MOU) agreements during visits to Los Angeles and Modern York.
The trade mission, organized by the Jeonbuk Economic Communication Promotion Agency, ran from April 20 to 26, 2026, and included 10 companies from the food, cosmetics, and consumer goods sectors. According to verified reports, the delegation held 1:1 product introduction meetings with local buyers in both cities, aiming to expand market access for North Jeolla-based businesses in North America.
In Los Angeles on April 21, the delegation engaged with regional distributors and retailers, whereas the New York session took place on April 23 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Fort Lee, New Jersey. These face-to-face meetings allowed company representatives to directly present their products and discuss potential partnerships with U.S.-based buyers.
The initiative was designed to support overseas market expansion for modest and medium-sized enterprises in the region by providing structured opportunities for direct negotiation and market intelligence gathering. Agency officials noted that alongside the consultations, participating firms conducted on-the-ground market research to better understand American consumer preferences, distribution channels, and buyer demands.
Such insights are expected to inform future market entry strategies for North Jeolla companies seeking to establish a lasting presence in the competitive U.S. Marketplace. The trade delegation’s activities were part of broader efforts by provincial authorities to strengthen international trade ties and promote export-led growth among local manufacturers.
Following the conclusion of the mission, the Jeonbuk Economic Communication Promotion Agency emphasized its commitment to continuing tailored overseas marketing support for regional businesses aiming to enhance their global competitiveness.
