The strikes began early Tuesday morning, with monitoring services detecting the first unidentified aerial targets after 4:00 a.m. Air defense systems engaged targets across several districts, and a drone danger alert was issued for the region. According to monitoring services, the alert first sounded in the city districts of Istra and Dubna, where radar equipment detected the approach of small-sized drones. Around 5:00 a.m., residents of the Chekhov city district reported a series of powerful explosions in the sky, which they attributed to the operation of air defense systems destroying aerial targets.

Casualties and Infrastructure Damage in Chekhov

Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed that five people died and six others were injured in the attack. He stated that the primary impact was felt in the Chekhov municipal district, specifically within the Novoselok industrial zone.

Beyond the warehouse fire, an electrical substation and an administrative building sustained damage. The attack also reached residential areas; in the village of Solnyshkovo, drone debris damaged a car and a private home, which sparked a fire that was subsequently extinguished. Wildberries Logistics Targets in Moscow and Leningrad Regions

While official reports from the Governor focused on general infrastructure, eyewitness accounts and analysis from Astra suggest that the target in Chekhov was a Wildberries warehouse. This appears to be part of a broader campaign against the e-commerce giant’s logistics network.

Simultaneous attacks hit the Leningrad region, where Governor Alexander Drozdenko reported that 17 drones were destroyed. Drozdenko wrote in his Telegram channel, There is damage in the Krasny Bor warehouse zone. One person was injured. Information is being clarified. According to the publication “Bumaga,” the target was a Wildberries logistics center.

Wildberries confirmed the attack on the Krasny Bor object, stating that a preemptive evacuation was conducted and no employees were injured. Additionally, a warehouse wall in the village of Emmaus in the Tver region was damaged by drone debris, according to Governor Vitaly Korolev.

Systemic Impact on Logistics Infrastructure

The August 4 strikes are not isolated incidents. Data indicates a sustained effort by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to degrade Wildberries’ distribution capabilities, starting on July 18. According to reports, at least 20 warehouses have been targeted in two weeks.

The threat remained active throughout Tuesday morning. Governor Vorobyov warned that military forces were still actively engaging drones over several areas of the Moscow region. He stated that drones were detected over the following districts:

• Serebryano-Prudsky District

While the open fire at the Chekhov warehouse has been extinguished, emergency services, including the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MCHS), investigators, and explosives specialists, remain on site to manage the aftermath and secure the area. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Moscow Region also declared a drone danger alert.
