Karthik Subbaraj Announces Dorothy Starring Keerthy Suresh for 2026 Release

Following his work on the romantic action film Retro, director Karthik Subbaraj is preparing for his next theatrical release with Dorothy. The filmmaker took to social media to officially announce the project as his 10th film, highlighting that the story is deeply personal to him.

Director Karthik Subbaraj stated that his tenth film is Dorothy, starring Keerthy Suresh, Sananth, and Rishikanth, noting it is a story very close to his heart that he had wanted to make for many years and that has finally been made with music by the maestro Ilaiyaraaja. He added that they are coming to big screens worldwide on September 25, 2026, and that he looks forward to the audience’s love and support as always.

Cast and Crew Confirmed for Dorothy

While further plot details remain under wraps, production announcements confirm that Keerthy Suresh will anchor the film in the lead role. She will be joined by Sananth and Rishikanth in key roles. Music for Dorothy will be composed by Ilaiyaraaja, bringing the composer onto the project for both songs and the background score.

The upcoming September 2026 release follows Karthik Subbaraj’s recent directorial venture, Retro. That Suriya-starrer followed an orphan named Paarivel Paari Kannan navigating an arms deal conflict, a cult-controlled island, and forgotten origins before streaming on Netflix. Keerthy Suresh was most recently seen in Revolver Rita.

Suresh’s upcoming release calendar includes several projects. She stars alongside Vijay Deverakonda in Rowdy Janardhana, slated for a theatrical release in December 2026. Her additional upcoming films include Thottam, Sathyavan Savithri, and an upcoming film directed by Anil Ravipudi that co-stars Venkatesh Daggubati and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.
