According to search trends released by the marketplace Dubizzle, consumer demand is heavily concentrated on home study furniture rather than just standard uniforms and stationery.

Study tables have emerged as the most sought-after category on Dubizzle, leading demand by a significant margin as households invest time and money into dedicated learning areas at home. The platform’s data indicates that searches for study table chairs recorded the sharpest increase across the marketplace, jumping by 1,450 per cent compared to the previous month.
Interest in other study essentials has climbed similarly. Searches for bookcases rose by 248 per cent month-on-month. Families are also actively hunting for ergonomic chairs and complete table-and-chair sets. Furthermore, multifunctional items such as bunk beds featuring integrated study desks are drawing strong attention from households aiming to maximize floor space while meeting educational needs.
Circular Shopping Gains Traction as Parents Cut Costs

The push toward pre-owned goods extends to zero-cost items as well. Searches for free study tables surged by 163 per cent month-on-month, illustrating a broader appetite for circular shopping as residents look for ways to trim back-to-school spending while extending the lifespan of quality items.
Gregory also noted that consumers show greater openness to circular shopping because it helps them save money while giving durable products a longer life, calling it a practical shift that benefits both households and the environment.

At the same time, demand for school bags remains high, with shoppers showing interest in both everyday backpacks and high-end brand-name items. Searches for TUMI backpacks increased by nearly 65 per cent compared to the previous month, while Louis Vuitton backpacks also rank among the most searched premium accessories. Ahead of the academic term, select marketplace sellers have listed items including original Dior notebooks and Gucci backpacks.
