As the day progresses, daytime highs are projected to climb to 33°C in Seoul and Daejeon, with Daegu and Gwangju experiencing even hotter conditions reaching up to 34°C. Meteorologists advise the public to wear light, breathable clothing as high humidity levels amplify the physical discomfort of the heat.

Atmospheric conditions are set to shift later in the day as clouds increase nationwide and skies turn overcast by Friday night. The oppressive summer heat will gradually subside over the weekend as a widespread weather front brings rain across the country starting Sunday and continuing through Monday. The incoming precipitation pattern is expected to drive temperatures down, with Sunday afternoon highs in Seoul forecasted at 29°C, dropping below the 30°C threshold. However, forecasters note that high humidity will keep apparent temperatures higher than actual thermometer readings.
While the approaching holiday rains will provide much-needed relief for ongoing droughts across the southern provinces, authorities are urging caution. Short, intense bursts of heavy rainfall could trigger issues, making strict preparation for heavy downpours essential.
