The event was reported by the press service of the Russian-controlled nuclear power plant, noting that the drone crashed into the roof of the sixth power plant unit. In the announcement, it was highlighted that the dome of the sixth block was also hit by a drone attack on Sunday.

Ukraine, on the other hand, denied having anything to do with the drone attack. Former head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi reported thatthat three direct hits hit the power plant. There was also a report of a casualty, but according to the IAEA, the damage to block six does not threaten nuclear safety.

At the same time, the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned that the new drone attacks on the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant significantly increase the risk of a serious nuclear accident.

The largest operating nuclear power plant in Europe was occupied by Russian troops in the early stages of the war. Both Russia and Ukraine regularly accuse each other of attacking the plant and increasing the risk of a major nuclear accident. Andriy Yusov, a spokesman for Ukraine’s main intelligence directorate, denied Ukraine’s involvement and accused Russia of endangering the safety of the nuclear power plant and its surroundings. According to Kiev, the Russians are launching false-flag operations against the reactors, deliberately shifting suspicion to Ukraine.
