Kannur: A five-member Maoist group took an activist who was injured in a wild cat attack in the Karnataka forest to Chitari Colony. Suresh (Pradeep – 49), a resident of Angadi, Chikkamagaluru, a member of the Western Ghats Special Zone Committee, was injured. Suresh was injured three days ago. When he needed treatment, the Maoists took Suresh to a residential area.

Suresh was brought to Chapili Krishnan’s house in Chitari Colony at around 6 pm yesterday. Threatened and forced to buy goods from the next shop. Then Suresh was brought with a cloth bandage on his right knee and left. Suresh said that the elephant had attacked and should be treated. After getting the information, the team led by Payayavur Panchayat President Saju Xavier, Panchayat member Jilsan Kanikathottam and Palummal Vasudevan asked him about the matter.
He was brought to Patamkawala at 8.30 pm in an ambulance arranged by the Payyavoor police. The police then took Pariyaram into custody and admitted him to the Govt. Medical College Hospital. Police believe that Suresh has been a Maoist activist since 2002.
