The family of an internationally wanted Romanian led the police directly to him. The wife and child were under surveillance, so when the man invited them to spend Easter with him in Italy, he actually revealed his hiding place. The police picked him up right from the airport where he was waiting for them.

However, the Romanian police tracked down his family and found out that the wife had bought plane tickets for herself and a child to come to Italy before Easter. Investigators thought the three would want to spend the holidays together, so they told Bergamo police to go to the airport to see who would be waiting for them.
The wanted Romanian was at the airport. The 35-year-old man showed the police the fake documents he had, but they recognized him from the photos in the European arrest warrant.
The man will be taken into custody and is now due to be extradited.
