On Saturday, investigations from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Giza Security Directorate revealed the circumstances of the killing of “Khafir” – a laboratory secretary inside a school in Sheikh Zayed City, at the hands of his wife.
Investigations conducted under the supervision of Major General Hani Shaarawy, Director of Criminal Investigations in Giza, reported that school workers found the body of “Gomaa,” 50 years old, a laboratory clerk, hanged with a “women’s scarf.” They did not discover any stolen items or traces of litter in the place. They informed the police to take legal action and uncover the circumstances of the crime.
Lieutenant Colonel Karim Samir, head of investigations at the Sheikh Zayed Thani Department, moved to the location of the report and it became clear that from the statements of his colleagues and school employees, he had no disagreements with others, so he worked to unpack the surveillance cameras to reach the suspect, which indicated that the victim’s wife had come to his workplace. In the evening, the crime was committed while he was sleeping.
By presenting it to the Public Prosecution, it ordered the victim’s body to be transferred to the hospital’s morgue at its disposal, to determine the causes of death by the forensic doctor, and to seize the “scarf,” the tool of the crime, and examine it for any fingerprints with knowledge of forensic evidence.
The wife’s confessions of committing the crime
The prosecution began investigating the accused wife, and upon examining her body, it was evident that there were injuries throughout the body except scratches on the face as a result of the victim’s resistance to her. It immediately requested that a sample be taken of traces of the skin found on the victim’s fingernails and compared with the skin of the wife, who confessed in detail to having committed the crime, as she said: “ I knew that a woman had kidnapped him from me, and that he also had multiple relationships with women, and I stood by him shoulder to shoulder and decided to take revenge on him and end his life.”
The prosecution issued a decision to detain the accused for 4 days pending investigations, provided that the date for renewing her pretrial detention should be taken into account and a “fish and scan” should be conducted on her to determine whether she has a criminal record or not. It also requested supplementary investigations by the security services into the incident.
