Indignation, anger, sadness and the desire that such acts finally be severely punished by the courts, animate Internet users. It must be written that the act is as cruel as it is cowardly. This Tuesday, a dog was found abandoned, tied to a tree, in the middle of the Colfontaine woods. The poor animal owes its salvation only to the vigilance of a walker who spotted it and took care of it.

On social networks, the publication denouncing the facts, with supporting photo, is circulating like wildfire. At the time of writing these lines, it has been shared more than 21,000 times, commented on more than 1000 times and recorded more than 2300 outraged reactions. The author of the publication is looking for information to identify the owner.

This Wednesday, the latter announced that it had achieved its objective. It now remains to be seen what actions will be taken. The fact remains that on the web, Internet users are disillusioned and are demanding sanctions commensurate with such an event, the dog having had no possibility of fleeing and therefore being left alone to its fate.

Still on social networks, an Internet user gives news about the animal. “I am a centralist for the 101 emergency line, currently in Mons. This Monday, at the end of the day, we received a call for a dog found by walkers. He was tied to a tree in the Colfontaine woods,” she wrote. “File created and therefore police notified. But no intervention possible for several hours due to lack of personnel. Being a born animal lover, I didn’t think for a second and sent my dad to look for him.”

The latter easily spots the animal. “He was always in the company of these nice walkers who had contacted us. But they didn’t dare approach him because he was barking. My dad, having understood that it was distress barking, freed him from his hell and left with him. This dog is a sweetheart. We called him Marius. It’s a male. The vet told us he was around 6-7 months old, max.”

In perfect health, the latter should be placed for adoption. The young woman also gives some information regarding her behavior with other animals or even on walks. “It’s a heart of love, truly. He has certainly experienced bad things but doesn’t hold a grudge against anyone. Another proof that animals have nothing to envy of human beings who disgust me more and more every day.”

And added: “I would like to find an association through which its advertising could be done so that the adoption is carried out according to the rules of the art, with contract, microchip, sterilization and treatment against parasites. We would be his host family for the time being.” A happy ending that everyone now hopes for poor Marius, who fortunately and visibly has a lucky star above his head.
