ABORTED KIDNAP IN ANKAZOBE – Kidnappers burn their targets’ houses

After a few weeks of calm, the ransomers are returning to the attack on the outskirts of Ankazobe.

While ransomware arrived to carry out a kidnapping for ransom, the targeted people had already fled. Furious, they burned their house.

An attempted kidnapping for ransom was cut short in Tsaramandroso, Ankazobe. Furious at not having succeeded in carrying out the kidnapping, the kidnappers set fire to a house where they were going to operate. Having found no valuable object that could be easily taken away, the criminals burned all the belongings left in the home and then took off.

The act was committed early Saturday evening in the village of Soamiandry Tsinjoarivo. Around 6 p.m., the kidnappers marched towards this locality. When they were no longer far away, residents spotted the criminals and the alert was given in a flash. As they disembarked, the bandits fired shots. As they deployed into the village plunged into terror, the people there had already fled the scene, without being able to take anything with them. The criminals had a very specific objective: they were not there to take away cattle heads or commit theft, but to take away one or a few members of a wealthy family residing in the village.

Ransom

Having sensed that the kidnappers were there for them, the people targeted, as well as the villagers, deserted the scene. This is how a hamlet emptied of all its population awaited the bandits. Ready to fight, the criminals were fully equipped.

According to the information collected, they had rifles as well as bladed weapons. This time, however, they left empty-handed after the targeted people saw them coming. In light of the information collected, this gang of kidnappers would not be from the surrounding area. Coming from afar, these ransomers emerged from the triangle of mountains and tall grass between Ankazobe, Tsaratanàna and Anjozorobe to kidnap their victims and hold them in captivity until payment of the sum demanded.
