ABS-CBN has released a series of vertical videos providing a first look at Maja Salvador’s return to primetime television in the upcoming series Someone, Someday. The highly anticipated drama, which also stars Kathryn Bernardo and James Reid, is scheduled to premiere on July 27.

A Complex and Mysterious Role

In the upcoming series, Maja Salvador portrays Abi Mercado, a character described as a “mysterious” figure who serves as both the number one fan and an eventual enemy of the show’s lead, Billy Cariño, played by Kathryn Bernardo. Teaser footage reveals the layered nature of Salvador’s character. One scene depicts Abi’s obsessive admiration for Billy, showing her secretly entering Billy’s room and trying on her personal belongings in an attempt to emulate her idol. Other scenes highlight Abi’s domestic struggles as an obedient but abused daughter who cares for her ailing mother, played by Rita Avila, despite facing constant mistreatment. The promotional clips also hint at a rising conflict between the two women. One sequence shows an intense confrontation where Abi lashes out at Billy. The encounter escalates when Billy accuses Abi of lying, resulting in a physical altercation that ends with a punch. The Story of “Someone, Someday”

The series centers on the life of Billy (Bernardo), a woman who finds purpose in leading her company, “Love List,” a dating app designed to empower women. Beyond her professional life as a CEO, Billy is a devoted sister who raised her younger brother, Oliver (Migz Casimiro), on her own following the death of their mother and abandonment by their father, played by Rowell Santiago. The plot thickens as Billy navigates professional challenges, including a confrontation with a character played by Daniela Stranner over alleged corporate sabotage. Simultaneously, her friendship with her reliable best friend, Jordan (Reid), faces new pressures as Abi (Salvador) enters her life with what appears to be a hidden agenda. As Billy faces these threats, she must confront long-buried emotional wounds to reclaim her future.
