Outer Banks actor Austin North has been arrested after attacking hospital staff. According to entertainment site TMZ, 27-year-old North was arrested earlier this week when he was aggressive towards several employees of a hospital in Las Vegas.
North allegedly punched a nurse and pushed two other employees in the emergency room. Security guards eventually overpowered the actor and handcuffed him to a stretcher. The police then took him away. North was later released on bail.
The actor is “deeply shocked” by what happened, he reports on Instagram. “My boyfriend took me to the hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack. Several tests were done, including blood tests, which came back negative for drugs or alcohol in my system. I had a severe anxiety attack.”
North says he can remember “little” of what happened in the hospital. “I have been battling anxiety on and off for years and this was the most extreme panic attack I have ever had. In the future, I hope to shed light on this debilitating condition and give hope to those who also struggle with it.”
