Alinéa: Employees Mobilize as Future of Furniture Chain Remains Uncertain

Employees of the French furniture chain Alinéa demonstrated on Saturday, February 14th, as the company faces potential liquidation. The situation has caused notable concern among staff, with the possibility that the Alinéa brand as it is indeed currently known will disappear.

“It’s a shockwave that has gone through all the employees as Alinéa,‍ the ‍brand as we certainly know it,⁤ will no‍ longer exist at all,” stated ⁤Margaux Palvini, an Alinéa employee and Force Ouvrière representative⁤ in Aubagne, as reported ‍by TF1 Info.

However, a glimmer of hope remains. The Marseille commercial court, which ‍placed Alinéa into receivership (redressement judiciaire), will accept definitive takeover bids‍ until March 2nd. A ‍decision is expected within two weeks following that deadline, according to Le Monde.

The future of the 13 Alinéa stores and approximately 1,000 jobs hangs in⁣ the balance. As of February 15th, no concrete takeover offers had been announced.
