Almost 190 people died due to floods in Kenya –

A new report released this Thursday, 2nd, by the Kenyan Ministry of Tourism, points out that around 188 people have died in floods since March, due to floods in that country.

Torrential rains, amplified by the El Niño meteorological phenomenon, have already caused devastating floods in this East African country, resulting in the destruction of roads, bridges and other infrastructure.

A previous government report put the death toll at 179, according to the news agency France-Presse. Additionally, 125 people were injured and 90 others are missing, while 165,000 people were displaced.

According to the Ministry of Interior, 52 bodies were found and 51 people are still missing near Mai Mahiu, in the Rift Valley, about 60 kilometers from the capital Nairobi.
