With the support of Fidesz, the current mayor of Győr, András Csaba Dézsi, can run for mayor again, Magyar Nemzet wrote.
Simon Róbert, member of parliament from Győr, announced in a Facebook post that the Győr Fidesz group has decided on the mayoral candidate, who is none other than Dézsi, who won the position in a by-election after the resigned Zsolt Borkai.
In 2019, Borkai became the mayor of Győr as a Fidesz candidate despite the fact that shortly before the municipal elections, the sex video in which Borkai appeared was made public. Shortly after the elections, Borkai resigned, but in the summer of 2023 he reactivated himself and registered as a mayoral candidate.
There is one more candidate in Győr, Bence Pintér wants to run in the local government election as president of the Győr Association with the Pure Heart.
