The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) has closed several World Class gyms, the Fanatik publication reports.

The closed rooms are InCity, Caro and Titan. “We have an ongoing action. There are several dozen teams on the field, I don’t know what each of them does. I find out at the end of the working day”, said Horia Constantinescu, ANPC president, for Fanatik.

It is not known whether this control targets more gym operators or just World Class.

One of the halls whose activity was suspended sent a message to customers: “We regret to inform you that the World Class location has been temporarily closed by the decision of the ANPC. We’ll be back with news and thank you for your understanding!”.

The company sent a press release confirming ANPC’s control.

“Following the temporary closure of some World Class clubs in Bucharest, as a result of the actions of the Control Body of the National Authority for Consumer Protection, the health & fitness network World Class Romania wants to send the public a clear and transparent message of commitment to complying with all norms legal and assuming responsibility for remedying any deficiencies identified,” World Class said.

“The World Class Romania health & fitness network will collaborate with the competent authorities to quickly and efficiently remedy all the deficiencies identified by the Control Body of the National Consumer Protection Authority (ANPC), it is stated in a press release from the company”, he also transmitted World Class.

The company has fitness clubs in four cities in Romania: Bucharest, Constanța, Brașov and Cluj-Napoca.
