Arrowhead Studies has increased the server capacity for simultaneous Helldivers 2 players to 700,000 players. CEO Johan Pilestedt expects that this limit will be reached quickly, but also that players will have to wait less time to play online.

Pilestedt wrote in a message on X that some more improvements will be added to the game this weekend. It is not clear exactly what improvements this concerns. It is not clear at the moment whether and when the server capacity will be increased again.

Earlier this week, Arrowhead Studies announced that server capacity for the game would have to be limited to a maximum of 450,000 concurrent players. The developer took this measure to improve server stability. After all, server issues had cropped up causing players to be logged out or not receive any rewards after completing missions.

Helldivers 2 was released on February 8, 2024 for the PlayStation 5 and PC. The third-personal shooter was initially scheduled to be released last year, but was postponed for several months. The original Helldivers game dates from 2015. During the night of Sunday, February 18 to Monday, February 19, more than 400,000 players played the game simultaneously via Steam. Tweakers wrote an extensive review about the game and found it surprisingly in-depth.
