Bradley Barcola Emerges as Dual Premier League Target
Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola has captured the attention of top English clubs, with Liverpool positioning the France international as a primary attacking target to bolster their squad under new manager Andoni Iraola. The 23-year-old winger has drawn significant interest from Anfield, where recruitment teams have received positive indications that the player would welcome a move to the Merseyside club.
However, securing the young forward will demand a substantial financial commitment. PSG have placed a valuation of around £145m on Barcola, though other reports note valuations starting upward of £130million-plus. That towering price tag presents a formidable hurdle for any prospective buyer, even as the Reds actively work behind the scenes to structure a deal.
Emmanuel Frimpong Urges Arsenal to Enter the Race
While Liverpool pursue negotiations, former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong believes his former club should disrupt those plans and launch their own bid for the French attacker. Speaking to Ladbrokes, Frimpong emphasized that Mikel Arteta’s squad must maintain momentum following recent success and continue adding depth during the summer window.
“Mikel [Arteta] and the boys have finally got it over the line, which I’m very happy about. But they shouldn’t just win it once and be satisfied with that. They have to keep on winning it now and dominate just like how Man United and Man City have in the past. We’ve got the players, we’ve got a deep squad and hopefully this summer, the board are going to strengthen further, because I still think we need a couple of wingers and a proper number eight.”
Frimpong pointed out positional needs within the current Arsenal lineup, noting that Declan Rice has been deployed in a deeper or less natural role at times. Alongside a pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes in a deal close to £80m, Frimpong identified Barcola as an ideal addition to solidify the Gunners’ attacking options.
“I feel like Declan Rice is playing in a position which isn’t natural to him, so we need a proper number eight alongside him. For me, when it comes to realistic signings this summer, with those positions in mind, I feel like Bruno Guimaraes is someone I’d love to see at Arsenal. And also Bradley Barcola… I think he would be very good for Arsenal. Barcola and Bruno Guimaraes would be a very good transfer window for Arsenal.”

Alternative Targets and Financial Hurdles
Both clubs face complicated market dynamics as they weigh high-profile alternatives. Arsenal have also been linked with exploring a club-record move for Vinicius Jr, an acquisition that could carry an even steeper financial footprint than Barcola. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s recruitment considerations extend beyond French football; former Champions League winner Vladimir Smicer suggested that the club should keep tabs on other elite wingers, including Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia or AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, depending on availability and squad fit.

With PSG’s steep valuation serving as a major sticking point, whether either English powerhouse meets the demand before the upcoming season remains the central question of the summer window.
