In a statement, the company highlights the recently appointed partner, until then responsible for the ESG integrated services platform (environmental, social & governance), “for its vast expertise in the matters involved and with sustainability in general, being a reference in the sector”.

According to the law firm, the appointments made public today “reflect the strategic importance of fundamental areas of economic activity and VdA’s focus on its clients and on continuing to ensure excellent legal advice in line with market demands” .

Assunção Cristas arrived at VdA in January 2022, joining the law firm as responsible for the Environment practice area and the ESG integrated services platform.

“With VdA having a clear focus on the priority of commitment to sustainability, and an innovative positioning, a critical factor in supporting transformation in this area, there is a clear identification with the firm’s values ​​and vision. Embracing this area that is so relevant to building a more sustainable present and future is a huge challenge, which excites me a lot”, said Assunção Cristas at the time.

At the beginning of this year, two other names were elected to the board of partners: João Riscado Rapoula, from the Tax department, and Marta Alves Vieira, responsible for the IP Litigation practice area, to the board of partners.

According to the firm, these two appointments “reflect a strategy to reinforce the firm’s skills, in areas such as Tax and IP Litigation, and develop new skills in key sectors of economic activity that represent added value for clients”.
