NARRATIVE – In animal hall 1, the professionals did not see a visitor this Saturday morning. Some people have wasted time and money.

It’s 9:15 p.m. this Saturday evening. Emmanuel Macron has just left the Agricultural Show after a 13-hour visit to Porte de Versailles in Paris. A moment to take stock of a first presidential day that was completely unprecedented and chaotic in the memory of exhibitors on the largest farm in France. “We have never experienced this in 60 years of the Agricultural Show”recognizes the president of the International Agricultural Show (SIA), Jean-Luc Poulain.

« In the 20 years that I have been coming to the Agricultural Show, I have not experienced such an atmosphere, explains Caroline Le Poultier, general director of the National Interprofessional Center for the Dairy Economy, exhibiting on one of the largest stands at the event. Hall 1 was closed all morning and we didn’t see anyone, we would have thought we were in full lockdown.”
