The Russian Ministry of Health registered a new version of the Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine with an updated composition, reported the director of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Alexandr Gintsburg.

“The renewed Sputnik V was registered, the corresponding changes were made to the instructions,” Gintsburg told the Sputnik agency.

He explained that the registration of the vaccine updated by the Ministry of Health allows it to launch its tests in adolescents that must be completed by the end of March.

On December 11, the Russian Ministry of Health registered the Sputnik Light vaccine with an updated antigenic composition and the next day, the drug entered the market.

Russia has four coronavirus vaccines developed by the Nikolai Gamaleya Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in cooperation with the Russian Direct Investment Fund: Sputnik V; its version for teenagers Sputnik M; the single-dose Sputnik Light version; and the intranasal variant of the Gam-Covid-Vac (Sputnik V) vaccine.
