Rising Political Violence in Bangladesh: Recent Attacks Raise Concerns Ahead of Elections

* According to Mahmuda Mitu,joint principal coordinator of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CP),Shikder was promptly rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
* Hospital sources, as reported by Kaler Kantha newspaper, indicate Shikder sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of his head, resulting in significant blood loss.
* Doctors are currently providing emergency treatment and have moved him to the City Imaging Center for a more detailed assessment of his injuries.
* December 12th: Fatal Shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi. Hadi, a key leader of last year’s protests that led to the removal of the Awami League government, was shot by masked gunmen during an election campaign in Dhaka’s Bijoynagar area.
