BAREA A – COUNCIL OF MINISTERS

It was validated, during the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, that the compensation, or rather the bonuses of Barea A will soon be settled. Reached by telephone, some players, who preferred to remain anonymous, stressed “that it is not a question of money, but quite simply or rather a promise”.

The delay in payment of such bonuses apparently demotivated many players, especially certain expatriate executives of the A team. Several indirectly dodged the coach’s call, as during the last friendly tournament as part of the FIFA window. “Normally, these are match bonuses counting for the first two days of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, in November, as well as the friendly matches,” said a source aside.

At each official match, players and staff should receive attendance bonuses for those called up as a group, and match bonuses in the event of a victory or a draw. The Barea have already claimed their bonuses before the second friendly match against Rwanda on March 25 in Mahamasina. They took some time in the locker room before taking the field. “Bonuses have already been paid after the friendly tournament,” says our source.

The State announced the decision during the Council of Ministers, but with the administrative procedures, when will the players concerned receive their shares, because the coach should send, before mid-May, the summons of those who will play the third and fourth day of the World Cup qualifiers against the Comoros and Mali, in early June. There, we are talking about the Barea A bonuses, but what about the Barea of other categories or the athletes who have worn the national colors high?
