As the team’s head coach Edijs Ausējs told the Jelgava municipal institution “Sporta servis centrs” before the season, to repeat last year’s result and enter final4 was the team’s goal this season.

In the semifinals, BK “Jelgava-BJSS” met with the 4th place winners “Bertānas Valmieras basketball school” and lost with the result 53:63. Therefore, in the final, our team will fight for bronze medals with “RSU-2”, which lost to Ventspils sports school “Spars” in the second semi-final game. BK “Jelgava-BJSS” won the last game of the season with the result 61:42 and won bronze medals. Viktorija Ivanova and Ivanda Hudjakova were the top scorers with 14 points scored in the bronze medal game, while Alice Karlson added 10 points. BK “Jelgava” chairman of the board Dins Ushvil says about zero as the past season: “The girls deserved it.”

Coach E.Ausējs considers that the season was very good, because he managed to fulfill the set tasks and achieve the set goals. “Unfortunately, in the semi-final game against the Valmiera team, we did not do what we were preparing for, but in the game for 3rd place we found our game. Probably because the stress after the semi-final game was over. Hard work pays off sooner or later – the women’s team of the BK “Jelgava” club won the first medal,” said the coach.
