WASHINGTON – A female teacher at an elementary school (SD) in Wisconsin, United States (US), was tried in court on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with an 11 year old student.

The immoral scandal occurred only 3 months before the teacher married her future husband.

Madison Bergmann (24), a resident of St. Paul, is now facing serious charges, including first-degree sexual abuse of a student who is still in the 5th grade.

Bergmann was initially reported to St. Croix County police last Thursday, where police were notified of his behavior at River Crest Elementary School in Hudson. The complaint specifically mentions inappropriate behavior between Bergmann and a 5th grade student.

Police officers were also given screenshots of text conversations between the student—who was legally identified as the victim—and Bergmann, which were discovered by the victim’s parents.

Bergmann reportedly texted the boy every day and told him how much he enjoyed “making out” with him and him touching him.

According to the police report, the inappropriate meeting allegedly occurred on school grounds, during lunch break or after school hours.

Police also found one folder inside a Bergmann bag with the victim’s name on it, contained a number of handwritten notes detailing their physical interactions. The duration of the abuse remains unclear.

However, Bergmann revealed that he got the child’s phone number from his mother in December, during a winter vacation to the Afton Alps. This is also the month in which he got engaged to his girlfriend. He was scheduled to get married three months later, in July, according to reports New York TimesSunday (5/5/2024).

Principal Kimberly Osterhues said in a message to parents: “We are shocked and disturbed by this news. Our primary concern is the well-being of the River Crest School community and the children impacted.”

Bergmann was released on $25,000 bail and prohibited from entering school grounds or attending school events. He will next appear in court on May 30.
