Do you want social security for our children and young people?
Do you want our children to have a safe and stable schooling?
Do you want the future to be our children’s?
If you stopped and first thought that it was obvious, and then thought “yes, absolutely” – then we completely agree!
Nevertheless, the biggest savings requirements for a long time lie within the school, the place which, in order to satisfy what we agreed on above, should be the place where absolutely the most money was invested.
In the social situation we find ourselves in, it is a pure disaster to lay off and cut staff who fight daily for children and young people’s social security and learning.
We should all understand that cutting back where it is most needed will prove disastrous in a few years.
Children and young people are already at greater risk of social exclusion, think what cuts will bring in a few years.
There is discussion at government level about how to approach and combat the increased youth crime and violence. I can tell you right away that what is happening now is absolutely the opposite of what is said there.
If they had wanted to fight gang crime, they would have chosen instead to invest in those who are on the front line every day for the work with our children and young people.
If they wanted our children and young people to have a safe social existence and schooling, they would have thought and acted differently.
Right now it’s empty words and theories that look good on paper.
So to you politicians, if you are serious about what you actually stand and say, it is time to think again and dare to invest in actually making serious changes. Invest money in school staff, police and social work and I promise that we who work on this will be able to make a real difference.
So start betting on us before you lose us!
