The show that singer Burna Boy was supposed to give in the Johan Cruijff Arena on June 9 is canceled after all. According to Bon Bon Entertainment, the organizer of the concert, this is due to ‘unforeseen circumstances that prevent us from guaranteeing our high standards.’

According to Burna Boy, it is the organizer’s fault that the concert cannot go ahead. On Instagram, the artist says that Bon Bon has not fulfilled certain contractual obligations. People who have purchased a ticket will receive their money back within thirty days, the artist promises.

It is unclear whether the show in the Johan Cruijff Arena will have a new date. Bon Bon Entertainment makes no statements about this.

Nigerian singer Burna Boy is considered one of the biggest names in the Afrobeats genre. It is not the first time that a Dutch show of his had to be canceled. This already happened last year in the Gelredome in Arnhem. That concert was only canceled when the spectators had been inside for hours. The concert was eventually postponed by a month.

Bon Bon Entertainment, which was also involved in that show, stated at the time that the private flight booked for the artist did not show up. Another flight, which was booked last minute, subsequently arrived in the Netherlands much too late.
