Again, Zelensky trusts in the counterattack

On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared his war plans for the year 2024. He said that this year not only defense will take place, but they are preparing for a new counterattack – MTI quoted the head of state’s interview with Fox News.

At the same time, Zelenskiy noted that defense is not an easy task either – and in connection with last year’s counterattack, he drew attention to the fact that “the lives of the soldiers must also be considered.” Last year, Ukraine announced a major counterattack for the spring, but not only was the operation delayed by months – it was postponed until the summer – but they were by no means able to deal as much of a blow to the Russians as they had expected. The autumn military operations also met a similar fate.

However, the Ukrainian president now promised that “there will be surprises for the Russians”. At the same time, Zelensky asked for more weapons: according to his claim, his forces need Patriot systems, as well as large weapons with a range of at least 300 kilometers.
