It’s been a year and a half since it was published Marvel’s Midnight Suns, which brought superheroes to the genre of turn-based tactical-strategy games. What’s more, he did it in a very lovable way, thanks to Firaxis’ studio. It is possible that the success of this game contributed to the fact that the Spitfire Interactive team decided to try to win laurels with a similar game, although the studio is made up of veterans who have worked on similar things before: the Freedom Forceon for example.

Their game is Capes, which recently received an exact release date. According to the story, the big battle between superheroes and supervillains in King City was finally won by the latter. The Corporation was formed, systematically imprisoning all the superheroes so that they could no longer cause trouble in their various businesses. But twenty years later, some young people with superpowers decide to overthrow the tyrants and reclaim King City.

Players will control a team of these young titans. As usual, each hero has a different power and thus requires a different fighting style. If we maneuver them skillfully on the battlefield, we can eventually reach their ultimate attack. Of course, different abilities can also be combined to deliver even more devastating blows. After every battle won and mission completed, our heroes develop, and we can unlock new abilities and equipment for them, which further increase their effectiveness and deepen the possibility of tactics.

Capes is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, as well as Nintendo Switch. The premiere is only a few weeks away: the superhero adventure begins on May 29.
