The Chinese company Xiaomi has a number of different products in its portfolio, from smartphones to rice cookers and umbrellas to electric cars. It is therefore not a big surprise that we can also find a table lamp in the offer of this company. As usual, this is no ordinary table lamp – in addition to its minimalist design, it works with a smart home and uses an ecosystem built on the latest Xiaomi HyperOS operating system. What can he do?
Top table lamp from Xiaomi
At first glance, this 60-centimeter-high lamp impresses with its clean and minimalist design, which in a decent white color fits practically on any desk, whether you are a designer, an accountant or even a student. Mijia Desk Lamp 2, as the official name sounds, but it’s not just pretty to look at. Mijia’s subsidiary focused on protecting users’ eyesight during production and received two certifications from the British independent consumer organization CQC, namely Reading and Writing Desk Lamp AA-level Light Certification and Learning Lamp AAAA-level Certification. These certificates confirm that the lamp is suitable not only when you need to write under artificial light, but also when you need to study late into the night, for example.
Xiaomi claims that compared to the previous generation, there has been a significant improvement in the uniformity of lighting. The central area (500 x 300 millimeters) boasts a minimum illumination intensity of 756 lux, which is 51% higher than the minimum standards set at 500 lux. In addition, the uniformity in this area is 1.96, which is 34% better than what is required by the standards – illumination uniformity must be less than or equal to 3. The Mijia 2 table lamp has also received the TÜV SÜD Optimal Light certification, which ensures flicker-free operation and reduces the danger of blue light.

The Mijia Desk Lamp 2 seamlessly interacts with the Xiaomi HyperOS smart home ecosystem. Thus, users can control the lamp through various smart devices and adjust the color temperature, brightness and switch between lighting modes to create the perfect atmosphere for any activity. The lamp will soon go on sale in China at a price of 179 yuan (approx. CZK 700 with tax) and it is not yet clear whether it will also reach Europe via the official route.
