In ‘Chateau Meiland VIPS’, the Meilandjes open the doors of Code Rosé for celebrities. Viewers will see on Monday evening how Caroline van der Plas (56) and John de Bever (58) kick off the action in Noordwijk. And although the BBB politician is a distant relative, there is a lot of tension between Martien and the folk singer.

“I haven’t met such a nice man in years”

John, who has a hearing problem, is loudly welcomed by the Meilandjes. The fact that the folk singer in principle does not have too much confidence in Code Rosé is evident when he indicates that he has brought his own coffee maker. “They never have such good coffee in those hotels,” he explains, but the Meilandjes have already had some damage to their ego. “He doesn’t think much of us,” they laugh.

Martien quickly seems to be charmed by John. “What a nice jackie you are wearing,” the boarding house owner compliments his famous guest. When the gentlemen play a game of pool with Montana while Erica and Maxime go pottery with Caroline, it becomes even more fun.

When John asks, Martien briefly summarizes his life story about how he kissed a man for the first time at the age of forty while he was still married to Erica. And then there is the gate of the dam. The gentlemen talk endlessly to each other. “You really are a weirdo, but you are very sweet,” John says to Martien later that day. After both gentlemen take a siesta, they deny having been ‘spoon-fed’. “We keep it neat,” Martien assures. When John then jokes that he has received messages from Martien ‘with I love you‘, Martien intervenes. “That’s not true at all, girls,” he reassures his daughters and partner.

Maxime also notices the click between ‘Jut and Jul’. “They have so much in common, it’s crazy,” she laughs. “Holiday plans are already being made.” Martien himself also makes no secret of the fact that things are going well for John. “What an only man,” he says. “I haven’t met such a nice man in years. I liked it so much. So pleasant, sincere, heart on my sleeve. If Kees (John’s partner, ed.) turns the corner over time, I will talk about it thinking of going out to dinner with John.”

John also feels completely at ease with Martien and his family. “I will miss them, I didn’t expect it to be so much fun,” he says. “It’s been a long time since I laughed like that.”

Viewers equally enjoy the chemistry between the men. “I can’t help it, but I have a smile on my face all the time,” writes a viewer on X. “I have to laugh so much that Martien shouts so loudly at John de Bever,” writes another. “At least he’s doing his best.” Caroline, who shares ‘one percent DNA’ with Martien and is covered in clay while making pottery, is also popular. ‘Enjoyed John and Caroline. What fun.’
