China ready to intensify cooperation

Friendly reception yesterday at the embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nanisana. The new Chinese ambassador Ji Ping, seventeenth in office, took office and was keen to invite the political, economic, social and media world for a cocktail to make contact. Several personalities were present, including a large government delegation as well as the President of the Senate, Richard Ravalomanana. Opposition politicians were also seen among the guests.

It was the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rafaravavitafika Rasata, who represented the State at this ceremony.

The new Chinese ambassador highlighted in his first speech the level of development of China in recent years, noting the GDP of 17,890 billion dollars achieved in 2023, which places China among the largest economies in the world. Then, he affirmed China’s willingness to support the Madagascar Emergence Initiative. “China will continue to provide support and assistance as far as possible to the Malagasy side for its efforts in the fields of transport, energy, agriculture, health and human resources development,” did he declare.
