Jakarta – The public certainly can’t wait to see the appearance of Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy in the film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga which is scheduled to be broadcast on May 24 2024.

In this film, it turns out that the Australian actor had to wear a cape again and (for a time) it was red again, as he often wears in Marvel superhero films. Even though he initially thought he could escape from the superhero character he had played for decades.

“Yes, this is a differentiator and it’s very fun. I wanted to say it’s nice not to wear a robe anymore, but I also wear it in this film. And it’s red, which is really absurd, right,” he said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

He asked the director, George Miller, about this concept, who apparently didn’t really pay attention to the similarities between the two characters’ appearances.

“Yes, it’s not intentional that it resembles Thor. But I feel there are big and amazing differences. Playing a villain, transforming, having a very different physique is really fun. I like it and that will be a big attraction,” he explained.

Apart from that, he also admitted that he was very happy to be involved in this project because he could channel things that he previously couldn’t do because of the unwritten rules in superhero films.

He also wanted his character to be quite dirty, messy and rude, which he had never shown in other films.

“There are a lot of rules you have to follow (in superhero films). Here, I can throw everything out the window which is really fun,” said Chris Hemsworth.

Since 2011 Chris Hemsworth has played the character of the god of Asgard in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His character is even the one with the most stand alone films and will be entering his fifth film.

However, until now no name has emerged to replace Taika Waititi. In an interview with Variety, Thor star Chris Hemsworth revealed the name of a director he would like to work with, namely George Miller.

The director, who is famous for the Mad Max franchise, is said to be a genius and easy to work with. Moreover, there was a good impression when Chris appeared in Mad Max: Furiosa as the new villain, Warlord Dementus.

The collaboration between the two in a superhero story looks like it will be very interesting to see the action-packed Mad Max touch brought to Thor’s story.

The directing styles of George Miller and Taika are very different, the Mad Max director often uses practical effects which makes Thor feel more ‘real’.
