The AI Attitude Barometer and Public Sentiment

Will Mailer, chief behavioural scientist at CommBank, emphasized the importance of understanding public sentiment, stating, “AI is evolving rapidly, and it’s critical that we understand how Australians feel about its use in banking.”
A 2023 study by the University of Melbourne, encompassing over 48,000 individuals across 47 countries, revealed that 80% of Australians would trust AI systems when ethical and responsible practices are demonstrably in place.
