There is a crowd in the clubs in the Mamaia resort during the mini-holiday of May 1st and Easter, and most of the terraces and shops are open in the resort, a plus compared to other seasons. The residents of Constanta also chose the May 1 holiday to go out with their bikes, rollerblades and scooters, as well as tourists who rented them from private operators.

A problem for restaurants is that many of the tourists or Constantinians out for a walk prefer to eat large and filling portions of donuts or churros from the many stalls on the promenade for only 10-25 lei compared to a main course that costs from 40 lei and up. Soups are at least 25 lei, and pizza around 35-40 lei.
