Banswada: Banswada in Rajasthan is in the news with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s controversial speech. This place is becoming remarkable due to the special political situation. The Congress has requested not to vote for its candidate in Banswada-Dungarpur, a tribal-majority Lok Sabha constituency.

Earlier, it was decided that the Congress would contest directly in the constituency. Arvind Damor was announced as a candidate here and submitted his papers. However, Congress later decided to support Bharat Adivasi Party’s Rajkumar Rot. It was also agreed that Arvind Damor’s paper will be withdrawn.

However, Aravind went missing on the last day of withdrawal. But Arvind later appeared before the media and declared that he was not aware of the decisions taken by the party and that he would not back down from the race. With this, Congress-B.J.P. Things turned into a triangular contest in the constituency where the competition was expected.

Even as local leaders appealed to voters not to vote for the Congress candidate, Arvind claimed that he had the support of leaders opposed to the alliance with BAP. Many of the responses indicate that there is confusion among Congress workers.

Formed ahead of the last Assembly elections, BAP currently has three MLAs in the Rajasthan Assembly. One of them is Rajkumar Rot, who is contesting for the Lok Sabha. Banswada-Dungarpur, a reserved constituency, will go to polls on Friday in the second phase along with Kerala. The Prime Minister’s speech in the constituency on Sunday became controversial.

Mahendrajit Singh Malviya quit the Congress after the party’s 2023 assembly election defeat and he was denied the post of Leader of the Opposition. Malviya was a minister in two Congress governments. Malvya, who was an MLA from Bagidaura, resigned and joined the BJP in February.

There are eight assembly seats under the Lok Sabha constituency. Out of these, Congress MLAs in three places and BAP in one place. There is also a representative. BAP is from Charosi which is part of the constituency. The founder, Rajkumar Rot, reached the assembly. Bagidaura is vacant and BJP has won three other seats. There are also MLAs.
