Recognizing the desire to share this experience beyond new York, the Criterion Collection created the Criterion Mobile Closet. This is a fully-equipped, traveling archive of over 1,700 films. It’s been touring the united States, appearing at select film festivals.
Now, it’s finally crossing the border. From September 4th to 7th, the Criterion Mobile Closet will be stationed across from the TIFF Lightbox on King street in toronto.

The announcement of the Mobile Closet’s Toronto arrival came directly from a very special source: acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro. Del Toro, a long-time admirer of Toronto, was recently presented with the key to the city.
In a video shared by both Criterion collection and TIFF, del Toro revealed a fun fact: he was the very first person to ever make a “Closet Pick” back in 2010.
