Cuanza Norte: poor condition of roads leaves N’dalatando without cooking gas –

Since the end of February, the city of N’Dalatando, capital of Cuanza Norte, has experienced a shortage of cooking gas, due to the reduced number of resellers and the poor condition of the roads.

According to residents’ complaints, the four gas resale agencies that exist in N’Dalatando have been insufficient to supply the district, which has an estimated population of more than 500 thousand inhabitants.

According to some residents interviewed by the Angolan news agency, some citizens are forced to spend the night outside sales outlets to purchase the product.

Another citizen said that she went to the gas sales station at 6 am, and was forced to miss work, because by 8 am, the period when work began, she had still not gotten the product, and advocates the increase in resale stations.

The poor condition of the access roads is pointed out by traders as being the basis for the scarcity of the product, and with each shipment, “the owners are forced to subject the vehicles to maintenance at huge costs”, they said.
