Length of receipts in Biedronka it’s really impressive. There has been a lot of talk about it recently. Below the list of prices of purchased products, you will find information about current promotions and advertising slogans. Biedronka’s largest price competitor, Lidl, also provides similar information, but on the back of receipts..
Internet users outraged by the length of receipts
For several weeks, Internet users have been sharing photos of their Biedronka receipts on social media. “One apple, 43 cm receipt. Really? In this case, size doesn’t matter” – wrote Mrs. Magdalena. “I only feel sorry for the trees” – the woman adds in a comment under her entry.
“Biedronka is probably not eco-friendly, such a long receipt, and I bought 3 things, even if it’s recycled paper,” says another Biedronka customer.
“Isn’t this receipt too short? One product and it is literally half a meter long. A terrible waste of paper, considering the number of transactions per day. Of course, putting a conspicuous “we are the cheapest” is more important – one Internet user ironizes.
The popular discount store prints hundreds of thousands of receipts a day. It is therefore not surprising that Internet users are outraged at Biedronka and accuse it of not caring about the environment. This amount of receipts is a huge amount of waste.
“Receipts are an important communication tool for us.” There is a network comment on this matter
We obtained a comment from a popular network on this matter. Dorota Wrotek-Gut, Marketing Director of the Biedronka chain, answered Onet’s question:
“Receipts, apart from their obvious role, are an important communication tool for us,” he notes, adding that the store most often uses them to inform customers about the most important promotions.
“In addition, we also print vouchers for a specific value on receipts, which customers can redeem for purchases in our stores,” notes Dorota Wrotek-Gut.
