Aktualne.cz: As far as Russia is concerned, Babiš is not Fico, thank God

The Czech website Aktuálné.cz has published on its pages a new episode of a renowned podcast of two journalists, in which they discuss the “character” of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. They called him “Fico’s Hidden Face”the video is on the website.

In the podcast, journalist Kateřina Šafaříková answers, among other things, the question of whether the current Slovak government is pro-Russian. He has a clear answer to that.

“Yes. Not only that Slovakia is currently led by politicians who claim that they want peace with Russia and refuse to support Ukraine by, for example, supplying weapons. In connection with this, I will recall the statement of the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on the occasion of the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, when he said that Putin is being demonized. This sentence has not yet been heard by any responsible politician in the government of the European Union countries,” the author aptly notes.

Her colleague, in turn, compares Prime Minister Fico with former Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. He considers this to be at least “authentic” in his agreement with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. According to him, ANO is not the same as Smer and Babiš is not Fico – at least as far as Russia is concerned.

However, the main idea of the podcast is Fico’s pretense and deception of his own constituents. According to the author, the Slovak prime minister, with his sharp rhetoric and opposition to aid to Ukraine, speaks exclusively on Slovak soil. However, during negotiations with other European politicians, he is a ready lamb.

“He sits, sometimes he says something, mostly he doesn’t say anything, he more or less nods,” describes Fico’s servile behavior at European summits.

However, the subsequent behavior of the Slovak prime minister in front of his nationalist and pro-Russian audience in his native country is in sharp contrast. “Then he will come to Slovakia, call his video team and shoot a video where he criticizes all (European politicians with the exception of Orbán, author’s note),” commented the Czech website sarcastically.

Bild.de: The German CDU put up posters in Arabic. They were torn down at night

Germany again has its immigration scandal. This time, however, it concerns “only” the posters that the CDU put up in the Turkish and Arab quarters of Leipzig. This right-wing party surprised not only the “sunshine fans”, but also the fanatical opponents of foreign cultures. They damaged, stole or tore down all the posters in one night, writes the most read German daily Bild.

The Christian Democrats designed and put up posters together with the migrants, while they were attacked by groups of extreme right-wing supporters.

It is true that the Christian Democrats are not exactly supporters of cultural mixing at the moment, and they even based their campaign on a radical turn against the “welcoming policy” of the former German chancellor and CDU chairwoman Angela Merkel. However, the votes of naturalized Turks will not bother them in the ballot box, and so they probably also discovered the spirit of Christian love for their neighbor.

Their “double standards” were criticized by the Greens, who described it as “unprecedented duplicity” in German politics. In any case, the CDU did put up posters in Arabic on German soil, for which it deserves cautious admiration. Shame and contempt belong to the vandals who tore down the message of reconciliation.

BBC: Britain has arrested the first migrants it wants to deport to Rwanda

The British police arrested the first migrants who are to be deported to Rwanda. This is made possible by a controversial law passed by Rishi Sunak’s conservative government.

According to this law, migrants who have entered the country illegally are supposed to go through the asylum process in Rwanda. According to Sunak, it is as safe a country for them as Great Britain.

Not only the entire British left-wing scene strongly opposes the law, it is also criticized by international human rights organizations, it states BBC.

Novinky.cz: Euthanasia is already being fought in the Czech Republic

They published a great report on their website Novinky.cz. In it, the author Kristýna Šopfová brilliantly describes the struggle of disabled pensioner Peter Bartheldi from Pardubice to end his life with dignity, which was irreversibly destroyed by a car accident 24 years ago with a subsequent spinal injury.

Bartheldi has been fighting for the right to a “good death” since 2018, the author describes how right-wing politicians, who claim that they have the right to decide on his life, are gaining on him. On the contrary, on his side is a deputy for ANO, who is also a doctor as well as the Society for the Legalization of Euthanasia.
